As the mother of two children with special needs (8 year old with CDKL5 Disorder and a 12 year old with Autism and ADHD), I have met a lot of families who have a child with a serious illness or disability. My husband and I would like to do something to make them smile, so we have set up this community project to give them a birthday gift from The Magical Bears. These are magical characters that deliver presents to kids on their birthday.

Thanks to the support from our friends and family, we have purchased an adult sized bear costume and have designed our own Ben and Ellie Bears to give to each child. My husband Steve and I  volunteer our time to take the presents to the children or post them.  We also donate bears to the Queensland Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House Charities and other organisations.
